Preguntan qué vamos a celebrar la noche del 15...
Veo banderitas por todas partes y siento una mezcla de alegría y amargura. Como cuando tomas tequila con limón.
¿Qué celebrar? Nos preguntamos, entumidos por los problemas que tiene el país.
Y es que a lo mejor algo hemos olvidado entre esa realidad cruda y frustrante que muchas veces nos aprieta el corazón como para hacernos soltar la esperanza y a lo mejor hasta la bandera.
Sí, puede ser que entre todo lo urgente, lo doloroso, lo inmediato, hayamos olvidado que también ocurren cosas buenas.
Puede ser que se nos haya olvidado que hay mexicanos que todos los días hacen patria con su buen ejemplo.
Puede ser que se nos hayan olvidado los héroes de a pie que se ganan el pan honradamente, inspirando a otros a hacer lo mismo.
Puede ser que se nos hayan olvidado los valientes con el corazón y los pantalones para ser hombres y mujeres de bien cada día.
Estos son los mexicanos que infunden vida a nuestro país y por ellos deben ondear las banderas y sonar las campanas.
Sí, a lo mejor ya se nos olvidó que todo esto existe...
Te propongo mirar a tu alrededor para comprobarlo, y mientras lo haces y recuerdas todas estas cosas, quizás descubras que ahí, entre la realidad, está también todo lo bueno y todo lo bello que tiene nuestro país. Tu historia personal, tu hogar, tu familia, tus momentos felices y muchas cosas más.
Ahí está el México que amas. Al que quieres decirle ¡VIVE, VIVE, VIVE!

What are we celebrating this September 16th (Mexico's Independence Day)?
I see Mexican flags everywhere and I sense a mix of joy with a sour aftertaste, similar to what you get after having a Tequila shot.
Celebrate what? We ask, numbed by the issues that trouble our country.
And maybe something has been forgotten amidst waves of problems and frustration that grip the heart until we are almost ready to let go of both hope and flag.
Perhaps we have forgotten that good things are happening too.
Perhaps we have all forgotten that there are true patriots walking among us, leading by example.
Perhaps we have forgotten the every day heroes working hard to inspire us.
Perhaps we have forgotten the brave ones, those with the heart and guts to rise above it all and find the better way.
Yes, perhaps we have forgotten that the good is out there, always present, keeping our country afloat.
So I suggest you don't take my word for it and look around...perhaps you will find once again all the goodness and all the beauty that inhabits our land. Home, family, friends, memories, and much more.
Deep in there is the Mexico you love. The one for whom you want to cry out loud VIVA, VIVA, VIVA!
