Aquel que domina la mente, lo domina todo. Está filosofía es el mantra de Kalimán, un superhéroe mexicano que apareció en la radio hace 50 años acompañado de su inseparable amigo Solín. Sus aventuras lo llevaron a los comics y de ahí al cine.
Kalimán no tiene armas futuristas ni puede volar. No tiene complejos, ni traumas, ni oculta su rostro. Todos sus poderes son mentales. Domina la hipnósis, telepatía, telequinesis y todo tipo de artes marciales. Sabe de química, física, matemáticas. Es capaz de reducir los latidos de su corazón para fingirse muerto, enviar su voz a lugares distantes y leer la verdad en las pupilas.
Pero su poder más grande no está en sus acciones sino en sus palabras porque sus frases son dignas de recordar.
“Serenidad y paciencia, mucha paciencia”, “El que domina la mente, domina todo”, “Siempre hay un camino cuando se usa la inteligencia”, “El valor consiste en dominar el miedo” y “La verdad está dentro de ti”
Un superhéroe que usa la inteligencia para vencer el mal. Un personaje con ideas que inspiran. Eso es poder.

He who controls the mind, controls everything. This is the mantra of Kaliman, a Mexican superhero born in the radio 50 years ago this year. Along with his loyal companion, a boy named Solin, his radio adventures quickly turned into comics and movies.
Unlike most superheroes, Kaliman does not have extraordinary physical supremacy or futuristic weapons, nor can he fly. All of his power resides in his mind. This is what makes him unique and, fans would say, inspiring.
He is a master of hypnosis, telepathy, telekinesis and martial arts. His wisdom extends to his knowledge of chemistry, physics and mathematics. He is able to simulate death, send his voice to distant places and learn the truth by reading the eyes. On top of that he’s got solid self-confidence, has no personal ordeal to overcome and does not hide behind a mask.
And yet, his greatest power is found in his words. Many of his phrases are worth keeping. “Serenity and patience, lots of patience” “He who controls the mind, controls everything” “There is always a way for the clever” “Bravery consists of mastering fear” and “The truth is in you” are just a few.
A superhero who uses intelligence as his weapon to defeat evil. A figure whose ideas inspire generations. Now that is real superpower.
